The Best Way Out is Always Through

I am a 55-year-old woman (she/her).  I enjoy long walks in nature and creating mindful mandala drawings.

I spend a lot of time thinking things through and considering different points of view. My strong beliefs about life’s purpose help guide and comfort me in everything I do. I love learning, whether through formal training or just exploring things myself. I value being honest, staying true to myself, and treating others with kindness and generosity. I try to find beauty and excellence in everyday life, living with compassion for myself and others. Close, supportive relationships mean a lot to me, and I truly appreciate the good things in my life.

I’m excited about the future and how I can make a difference through my work as a nationally certified professional in mediation.  I love teaching and guiding others to use compassionate, non-violent communication. I believe we do not have to be scared of conflict if we have the tools to engage in tough conversations.

I enjoy the ever-evolving relationships I have with my adult children, and I am thankful to navigate the journey of life with my husband, who is a source of love, encouragement and support to me.

I enjoy mindful drawing as a self-regulation and self-care practice. It also fulfils my need for creative expression and beauty.

It has also helped me let go of my drive for perfection, which did not support my need for self-compassion and compassion for others. I call this practice Art for My Heart and host mindful drawing workshops to share this gift I discovered with others.
